My sister in law Dora recently left a lucrative career in high finance to have a 3rd
baby and begin her more demanding career as a stay at home mommy. Ariel the
oldest of the three is my God-Daughter and a special needs child. She suffers from a
condition called Kabuki Syndrome, a very rare pediatric congenital disorder of
unknown cause with multiple congenital anomalies and mental retardation. She
requires a whole lot of extra attention but she is an adorable little angel that I feel
fortunate to have in my life.
Ariel is also much much smarter than she lets on. She makes her little brother Aidan
The Fearless do her dirty work for her like pilfering a cookie for her. He is her
henchman. He does not have the disorder his sister does and is pretty much a normal
3 year old except that he is very STRONG and completely FEARLESS. Like Jackie
Chan Aiden does his own stunts and doesn't need computer generated imagery.
Sweet Merciful McGillicuddy! This kid is entertaining to watch! I have seen Aidan try
to go down a slide standing on his feet! I have seen the little guy fall from a stool, take
hits from doorknobs, tables, and shelves all WITHOUT crying. At his birthday party he
socked a 10 year old punk 3 times his size for making Ariel cry. Currently Aidan is
obsessed with Spider-man or Spiper-pam as he puts it and runs around webslinging
and sticking to walls all day long. I played the Ramones cover of the Spiderman song
for him once and he practically wet his pants with joy. In fact he did wet his pants
come to think of it. Alyssa the baby is too small for me to gauge her character, but I
give her a few months and she'll strut her stuff.
I am putting this here because I love my sister in law Dora, My Compadre Alfonso,
and those wacky kids. Every time I see them, they do something clever, funny, or
mindlessly destructive or all three! Which of course I find totally entertaining.
How Dora hasn't been taken away to the Camarillo Funny Farm where they milk
chickens is beyond me! Here is a question. How does a 3 year old little boy break a
refrigerator? I don't know either but somehow Aiden figured it out. Man! I can't wait
until he's old enough to drive!
